Radio show group evaluation

In radio today we got set a task in which to do a group radio show and i worked with Olivia, Jade and Weasley in which we done presenting. We did not have time to write a script so we had to think off idea of the top of our heads and improvise. We went into the studio to help set up the radio show before it started. Then as the radio show began to start it was a bit  shaky because we did not have any script and personally i thought it would be much better if we had a script. What went well is that we manged to get everyone in to do their segments of the radio show but what we could of improved on is try and right some sort of script before so it goes better and there is no spaces and gaps to make the radio show sound more professional. 

In radio today we got set a task to do another group radio show. This time i was doing the play list with Jade and Olivia. This is where we just had to get songs and make a playlist for the radio. This was fairly easy and we did not have to do that much preparation. We did this by going on YouTube and selecting songs which we could play on the radio show. What went well is that we manged to get all the song on the radio but we had to change some of them so they could be played on the radio. To improve we could of made sure that it is able to play on the radio. 

In radio today we got set a task to make and group radio show again. This time I was a producer with Jade and Olivia. This is where you are in charge of everything in the radio. To do this we had to take charge of the class and make sure they were doing there work. What went well is that we all managed to make sure everyone was doing there work and we made sure every microphone was working well. To improve maybe tell people to get out the radio studio so it not that crowded and squished.

Radio show proposal

I Vicky Liv and jade all decided on doing a Jeremy Kyle type show so a call in with a problem shows. We had other ideas such as a top 3 music show, a gossip/talk show and a children’s radio show.

We decided on a call in problem show because there isn’t many on the radio which offers this. This show would be on 24 hours and would be offered to everyone in Europe so anyone could call in at any time and help would be available 24 hours. So far as we have been recording made up problems by us and pretending to be different people. we then realised there is a phone in the radio station which we could use and people outside of the college listening could call in with their own problems and we would see if we could help but we couldn’t get hold of the telephones number so we could say it on air then they could ring in. The only problem with is that not many people are going to want help from 16-17 year olds and not many people listen to the college radio. The target audience would be any age as all people have problems so i don’t think there is a target audience its for all ages

Job role

job role list:


radio presenter:

 The job and role of the radio presenter is straight forward they are the voice of the show. It is their responsibility to create a tone and style and relate the radio listeners to the genre and topic of the radio show they must also relate to their target audience. Most of the radio presenters are self employed.

radio journalist:
 this person needs to know all the news headlines  and stories. They need to go out and find relevant news related to the topic for the radio station. They also need to need to focus on their target audience such as if it was 16year olds they would get news on the latest music, videos and gigs.

script writer:
The job rolls of a script writer is to write the script in great detail and depth so people listening can relate to the target audience for example they should use language appropriate to the target audience.

commercial producer: 
commercial producer create radio advertisement and station promotions for radio station. They are based in radio stations and recording studios. They need to think of catchy tunes and slogans.

evaluation weekly

4/11/14: Today in radio we got told what we are doing for the this term we got told to get in groups of 4 or less and create a ten minute radio show. Then we got told to do some research on the different radio shows and use the research in which to help to come up with ideas to help create our radio show. What went well in that lesson is that we managed to resaerch on three different types of radio shows. To improve maybe try and actually come up with the radio shows idea.

11/11/14: In radio today we came up with our ideas for our radio show. We said that our radio show will be like a talk show in which we would help people with their problems. We came up because we thought that we could have a Jeremy Kyle show but on radio. We also said that we are going to play recent songs in which would draw in more viewers if we played music to.

18/11/14: In radio today we planned whos going to do what work so no one is left doing all the work. I got set the task of doing the script, firstly i researched and looked at Jeremy Kyle shows and scripts because I needed some ideas in what to write. Then I rote the script with help with the research I had just done.

25/11/14: In radio today we recored our show in the radio studio, it did not sound that good because the script did not make much sense and we were talking like robots to so its just sounded dull. After we finished recording I rewrite the script so it would make more sense and we said that we would put music in the background so that it would not sound as boring and it would make it sound a bit better and more entertaining.

2/11/14: In radio today we recored our show again and managed to make it sound much more entertaining and less boring because we added the background music. Also it flowed more and the script was easy to read and made more sense in which made us not stutter and sound like robots.

9/11/14: Today in radio we managed to have our last practice of our radio show in which went well and we managed to still make it flow and sound entertaining maybe next week we could add a radio jingle if we have time to make it sound more professional and more like an actual radio show.

16/11/14:
